HOTA

This 24-hour concert was a marathon endurance performance by one of Australia's leading concert pianists, composers, and creative innovationists.

This never-before-attempted concert event served as a retrospective of Charlie Chan’s 40-year career as a virtuoso pianist and composer.

The concert brought together a mix of energetic and dynamic performance, classical, contemporary, jazz, and experimental music - all live, all day, all night on the Outdoor Stage at HOTA on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Supernova also saw the world premiere of Charlie’s AI - named Ch.AI - installed on a Yamaha Disklavier, which continued playing while Charlie took occasional breaks to eat, nap and heed calls of nature.
